Can one canoe from Canada to Hartford down the Connecticut river? - connecticut river cruises
Some of my classmates and I thought to do something else, if we are to go camping in the spring. My friend suggested to paddle on the Connecticut River about. What would a trip like that right? I understand that they were collecting prisoners in the way and need to and walk around them. How long do you have your trip? (we) live in the Hartford area.

It would take some time. The current in the north, probably in turn, contributes significantly. Discover what you can avoid shallow water and appreciate the journey in this way. This will give you a time in Nice buffer. Although I make the trip himself. It can be difficult to find a place to camp as soon as you enter the TC, as I'm sure you know.
I grew up in Old Saybrook, CT, although the mouth of the Connecticut River, the river and saw a couple of miles from the Canadian border. I would say that it is navigable all the way from Canada. That is not too rough, is a current ... It is possible that bottom trawling. A few miles south, perhaps.
Good luck!
I agree with the previous posters. The trip looks like a great adventure, but I saw parts of the Connecticut River are too low for canoeing, or too rocky to be able to carry the canoe, have a good part of the way! Moreover, in addition to dams, small and rocky, is the question of which camp the night. Technically, you must obtain permission from the owner, if only we are camping, where to stop in the night.
How about a combination of camping, canoeing tour where you can travel with their canoes and camping equipment at various places along the river and the boat, where you can camp in campgrounds and? I know this is not the same, but it would be easier for you all!
Have you into camping, boating holiday? There must be some places that promote this kind of thing.
Good luck and I hope you have fun in what you travel! :-D
